During this winter Cozy Harbor has been busy improving and tweaking our production line in preparation for Maine lobster production season beginning middle of May. We anticipate a productive year bringing succulent, tender Maine lobster to a table near you.

After winning 2017 Grand Prize for Best Retail Product, we are excited to return to Boston March 17-19 for Seafood Expo North America and then follow up with our annual trip to Brussels for Seafood Expo Global May 7-9. The response to our new products has been terrific and we will unveil some more new products this year as well. We will keep you posted as these new items become available in various US marketplaces.

Cozy Harbor is now BRC Certified AA & MSC Certified Chain of Custody
Cozy Harbor is now BRC Certified AA by the British Retail Consortium and also MSC Certified Chain of Custody. So when it comes to food safety and sustainability we’ve got you covered. 2017 is starting out as a great year for Cozy Harbor. We just exhibited at seafood shows in Boston, Brussels, and Seoul and up next is our participation at Seafood Expo Asia in Hong Kong September 5-7.
Cozy Harbor Team Wins 2017 Seafood Excellence Global Awards
Cozy Harbor is proud to announce their double win in the Seafood Excellence Global awards at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels in April. Cozy took grand prize for their new Tail Claw Knuckle Meat Retail pack and also grand prize for their new retail line featuring Split Tails, Twin Lobster Tails, Tail Claw Knuckle Meat and Claw Knuckle meat. Cozy beat out a field of 54 finalists to nab top prizes in both categories for retail products at the largest seafood fair in the world.
Do Lobsters Hold the Key to Eternal Life?
According to a recent article in the Telegraph, lobsters may hold the secret to eternal life. Lobsters contain a chemical, known as telomerase, that makes them ‘biologically immortal.’ Telomerase prevents DNA from damage, so cells can reproduce time and again.
Cozy Harbor Expands Product Line
Portland, Maine-based Cozy Harbor Seafood announced it achieved British Retail Consortium Grade A certification for its food safety and quality management program.
The BRC evaluates both manufacturers and retailers in the food industry, based on food safety, quality control, site standards and other categories. BRC recently implemented version 6 to its standards, which is much stricter and more comprehensive than the previous version Cozy Harbor is the only U.S. lobster processor to receive the Grade A certification.
In addition, Cozy Harbor announced an addition to its line of “Real Maine Lobster, Real Easy” frozen lobster product: Frozen Lobster Grill Cuts.
The company will debut the product at the International Boston Seafood Show at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 10 to 12.
“The lobster market in the U.S. has exploded over the last year, with lobster roll trucks and lobster shacks popping up not just in Maine, but throughout the country, as far west as California,” said John Norton, president. “Lobster is an affordable luxury for consumers any time of year. Our new Frozen Lobster Grill Cuts take the mess out of preparation, and allow foodservice operators and retailers to enter the untapped market for convenient lobster. Offered in both retail and food service packs, CHS’s new Frozen Lobster Grill Cuts translate to a huge expansion of markets in both industries.
